Demo Software

Synex SGML ViewerWe provide two demos for download from our Web site.

The Synex SGML/XML Viewer is our brand new sample program—it is provided with full C source code for all ViewPort customers to use as a "smorgasbord" of sample code for use in their own applications. Sample code include style sheet, navigator and hotspot editors. Sv32 is also useful for validating SGML data, and creating support files such as style sheets and navigators. The application will be continuously updated as ViewPort evolves. Please contact sales @ synex.se for downloading details.

Missionaries and CannibalsThe Synex ViewPort Sample Tour for Windows, is a good programmer's introduction to the software. It consists of demo applications (including source) that you can use for tests against your own SGML data; one of the samples is a minimal MFC integration. You can also view the Sample Tour demo as a quick tutorial on the ease of programming with ViewPort.

Note that the Sample Tour is somewhat outdated and using an old version of Synex ViewPort (even though the concepts it illustrates are eternal).

  2. pkunzip.exe is available from http://www.synex.se/eval/pkunzip.exe or you can download WinZip from its homepage.

  3. Go to the root directory where you want the VPTOUR directory to be created
  4. Remember to use folder names when extracting (with pkunzip, use the option -d):
    pkunzip -d [path:]vptour.zip
